SharePoint Best Practices Conference 2009 (Torry Pines) Wrap-up

So... the conference in Torry Pines went really well. I was impressed by the folks who showed up, both on the presenter side as well as on the attendee side. Everyone was great, and catching up with people I only get to see a few times a year was lots of fun, not to mention very engaging.

Below are the links to my session decks:

Also, the sample code project I referred to during my session (demonstrates how to deploy content types and site columns farm wide and have them bound to all libraries in the system - without the need for custom site/list definitions):

A few specific conference highlights:

  • Ben's “Sweet“ Suite - That place was huge, and it was really great to catch up with folks on the massive balcony
  • Getting to meet some really great people who I hadn't met (Joel Olsen, Rutherford Wilson, and many more)
  • Getting to catchup with people I rarely see (Bill English, Ben Curry, Brad Smith, Bob Fox, Tiffany Songvilay, and many more)
  • Going to some really great sessions (I think I learned more at this conference than any so far)
  • Networking with new vendors, attendees, and everyone in between

Putting together some new stuff for the blog, especially re: Excel Services, so look out for it soon!
