BDC Application Definition & SSO Configuration... It can't be true...

The configuration of a data source, using application definitions, within Business Data Catalog (BDC) is of significant value.  Furthermore, the use of Single Sign On (SSO) service tend to further complicate it.  In this posting I specifically focus on a specific event recorded in the event viewer.  In fact, I am referring to the event id: 6562 (see BDC Figure 1).

If an administrator is not familiar with the configuration of BDC, the solving of this issue could be time consuming.  Certainly, many of us do not have the time to spare.

In short, many of the problems with the configuration of the BDC exist because of mis-configuration in the application definitions.

The example configuration of the SsoApplicationID System.String property must match the application definition defined on the Manage Enterprise Application Definition for the Manage Single-Sign On located on the Operations tab (see BDC 2).

I have correct SsoApplicationID but still getting the same error.

Provide me with details for your error.

I also have the correct Sso ApplicationID:

"<Property Name="SsoProviderImplementation" Type="System.String">Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.SingleSignon.SpsSsoProvider, Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.SingleSignon, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c</Property>"

The error is identical to the one shown except that it shows the error returned as 0x80040e14.
